Sneak Peek: Progress Update on Reno Project

How does the saying go… good things come to those who wait?

Often renovating is a game of patience.

After all, there are some factors that are just beyond your control, such as the worst floods on record, and a major labour shortage.

However, despite some initial setbacks, we have been making progress on our latest renovation project, a creative space in the Byron Bay Arts & Industrial Estate.

You can read more about the project here.

Feature Wall

The feature wall was one of the first ideas I had for the space, a solution to cover up an unsightly bannister. It was important to create privacy for an upstairs office, while allowing enough light into the space. The result was designing an arched window around a bank of windows. A recent addition has included a desk counter finished with travertine cylinders. The walls have been finished in Ibiza Gypsum and Lime Plaster

Staircase

Travertine treads have been added to the staircase while the risers were painted. The bannister has been covered with plaster and covered in Ibiza Gypsum and Lime Plaster.

Office

The office has been designed as a private space to work quietly. The main wall and ceiling have been lined with a natural finish cork. The flooring will soon be finished with a cream-coloured cork, similar in tone to the travertine tiles which have now been installed on the mezzanine level.
